about nabanassar

The deep sense of life is relation. We settled in italian wide web and earned respect, as well as our books were read and reviewed. Also our committment was to look for international friends proposing values as tolerance, solidarity and affection for poetry. Step by step we added more than twenty contributions; now it's time to start again, renewing the pact.

Italian young poetry (people born in 70es) is looking round after 3-4 years of tough internal debating about Tradition and Translation; in particular: what has to be acknowledged to our Past? Metrical poetry again? Lyrism? Committed writing? Our answer is so oriented: not to create a new -so old...- circle of mutual praises; not to limit our sight to reached consciouness of being part in a new great house called Europe (even if it seems only an economic building, at now).

http://www.nabanassar.com makes its sense in the frank network relations we are having since 2002. We could point out three models: George Steiner, Paul Muldoon, Richard Rorty, but first of all we like to be safe harbour to everyone looking for free literary dwelling, especially emerging writers.

This idea is common to all the people involved: staff, contributors, readers. English translating of our first collective italian book "Nabanassar, atto unico" (Nabanassar, the only act) -published in july 2003- will follow to depict our intents by a literary text, the concise result of our effort. We hope we'll have the second act next year, working on ideas - materials - texts we receive by e.mail or build by our/your forum.

Thanks a lot & see you soon.
